Jury Awards VLSI $949 Million Plus Running Royalties

Expert testimony from Upstream Partners’ Mark Chandler in jury trial that awarded VLSI $948.7 Million plus running royalties in damages 

Mark Chandler, Managing Director of Upstream Partners, provided analysis and trial testimony on damages on behalf of VLSI Technology in patent litigation with involving Intel microprocessors.

Upstream worked with the law firm of Irell & Manella and provided analysis on patent damages related to the alleged infringement of a patent for data processing systems, U.S. Patent No. 7,606,983. This included analysis of the economic contribution of the patented technology in two server processors sold by Intel.

Mr. Chandler submitted an expert report and provided damages testimony at deposition and at trial in the Western District of Texas. Mr. Chandler’s analysis was supported by a team of Upstream analysts led by Juhee Park. The jury awarded damages of $948.7 million along with ongoing royalty payments on infringing Intel processor products.
